The Bahrain Tender Board (BTB) has announced the completion of the enrolment of all government entities governed by the Law Regulating Government Tenders, Purchases and Sales into its electronic notification and follow‑up service, thereby enhancing direct, effective communication with suppliers and contractors and encouraging wider participation in public tenders.
Marking the milestone, His Excellency Mr Yaser bin Ibrahim Humaidan, Chairman of the Bahrain Tender Board (BTB), said that the Board’s ongoing developments are aimed at strengthening transparency, efficiency and effectiveness across government procurement by simplifying procedures and boosting engagement between procuring entities and the private sector.
HE Mr Humaidan affirmed that the upgraded electronic tendering system is fully aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the provisions of the Tenders, Auctions, Purchases and Sales Law, and is designed to foster fair competition, sound governance and higher levels of transparency from the invitation to tender through to award.
Since October last year, and up to mid‑May 2025, a total of 242,892 electronic notifications have been issued to suppliers and contractors during the various stages of tendering and auction processes. The number of distinct notification types has increased to 40, including reminders issued five days before closing dates, notices of tender openings and of completion of technical and financial evaluations.
The new notification types cover a wide range of sectors such as construction, services and goods, underscoring the Board’s commitment to improving the flow of information and safeguarding the rights of all parties.
