The Bahrain Tender Board (BTB) held a specialised workshop for members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham) entitled: “Government Tendering and Auction Procedures”. The workshop was attended by a group of business owners, traders and professionals in procurement and supply chain fields, with the aim of shedding light on government tendering procedures and highlighting optimal ways for effective participation in government procurement.
The workshop included explanations on how to read and analyse data published in tender announcements on BTB’s official website, along with a review of available procurement plans. The interactive session also provided details on technical procedures related to electronic registration, purchasing tender documents, submitting bids and clarifying the legal rights of suppliers and contractors.
Eng. Jamal Abdulaziz Al Alawi, Secretary General of the Bahrain Tender Board, stressed that this workshop reflects BTB’s commitment to fostering partnerships with the private sector locally and internationally, including the American business community in the Kingdom Bahrain. He emphasised the importance of such cooperation in enhancing constructive engagement with diverse stakeholders.
He further confirmed BTB’s commitment to continuing such interactive workshops to enable companies to fully understand regulatory procedures, improve the quality and competitiveness of their bids, and strengthen government spending efficiency, in line with international best practices in public procurement.
The workshop saw strong participation, with attendees praising the initiative as a reflection of BTB’s commitment to transparency and equal opportunities in government tendering. Participants highlighted the importance of such specialised sessions in raising awareness and increasing private sector participation, while commending the valuable information shared on bidding processes. They expressed their hope that such sessions would continue, as they support economic development and foster a more competitive business environment in the Kingdom.
