MOW intends to appoint reputed international consultant to carry out comprehensive technical feasibility studies, concept and preliminary design, detail design and provide tender assistance to MOW for widening and upgrade of National Charter Highway and development-upgrade of secondary roads (service roads and supporting links).  Scope involves:

1. Widening of National Charter Highway to ensure at least 4-lane dual carriageway

2. Improve accessibility for adjacent areas

3.  Development of grade separators at 3 major junctions to provide free flow in the north-south directions and other priority directions

4. Provide a new foot bridge (at a suitable location based on the study).

تعتزم وزارة الأشغال تعيين شركة استشاري هندسي ذات خبرة دولية واسعة في أعمال الطرق ، وذلك لإعداد دراسة جدوى فنية متكاملة لأعمال توسعة وتطوير شارع الميثاق الوطني وشبكة الطرق المساندة له، حيث يشتمل نطاق العمل على التالي:

1.       توسعة شارع ميثاق الوطني  إلى أربع مسارات بكل اتجاه على الأقل.

2.       تحسين إمكانية الوصول وتعزيز الطرق المساندة المؤدية إلى المناطق المجاورة

3.       إنشاء تقاطعات متعددة المستويات في ثلاثة تقاطعات رئيسية لتوفير تدفق مروري حر في الاتجاهين الشمالي والجنوبي والاتجاهات الأخرى ذات الأولوية

4.       توفير جسر مشاة جديد (في الموقع المناسب حسب الدراسة)

Tenderers intending to participate in this tender shall be Consulting Engineer offices registered with Valid CRPEP under Category A. Also, registered Tenderers under CRPEP Category A who fulfilled below inquires:

1. Valid CRPEP License under theCategory mentioned in the Tender Advertisement
2. Design Centre/Office in Bahrain

The tenderer to provide a copy of the following:

a) Picture of office facilities,

b) Local Address and

c) Recent EWA and Telecommunication Bills

3. Firm Experience

·         Completed Three (3) major highway projects in the last 10 years as an Independent Consultant while complying with the following additional requirements:

§  Scope of works involve comprehensive feasibility studies, preliminary and detail design consultancy services for multi-lane highways of at least 5km length with grade separators/interchanges/ marine bridges; reclamation/ dredging and marine protection works; ITS, and other infrastructure (utilities and services);

§  At least one (1) major highway project at least one (1) grade separator/flyover/tunnel for vehicular movements

§  In case of joint venture partners, it is mandatory that each partner of joint venture must have undertaken or successfully completed a design consultancy project for 2km of local road or  a minor bridge/culvert/footbridge in the past 10 years.

4. Average Annual Turnover

§  must be at least USD 10 Million in the past 5 years

§  In case of joint venture, it is mandatory that each partner of the joint venture must have average annual turnover of at least USD 5Million in the past 5 years
